The dead bodies of a young man and woman were pulled from a submerged car in the water near the Seaport on Friday, State Police said.

The pair, who authorities did not identify Friday night, were pulled from the water after “an ongoing investigation” had led police to believe that their car has been in the Reserved Channel near the Black Falcon Cruiseport Terminal for multiple days.

Authorities continue to investigate, but “State Police detectives have information suggestive of their identities.”

State Police and Boston Fire divers were called to the area after noon on Friday. Divers found the white SUV about 40 feet underwater and about 15 feet out from the pier — with both the man and woman inside, police said.

Divers were able to remove the woman’s body from the car, but couldn’t take out the man until a crane raised the SUV out of the water and brought it to land.

The cause and manner of the deaths remains under investigation.
